Mike and I received this message today. If things stay on course we should be informed of our travel date within 6 weeks!!! :)
Hi Mike and Erin-
Please see the below information from Chung Yi!
We’ve got two pieces of good news for you! Ming-Zong attended the court hearing on June 15 which birthmother asked for re-schedule the guardianship. Ming-Zong again clearly stated his willingness to be adopted to the U.S. Therefore the judge stated at court that he will reject the birthmother’s counter appeal, the guardianship still belongs to the Maoli county government, and he will make the first ruling. Besides, today (assuming Friday 6/17) we received the adoption recognition first ruling from the Taiwan high court to reject the birthmother’s counter appeal to the adoption petition. According to law the birthmother cannot make another counter appeal. We now wait for the final ruling, and we estimate that we may schedule a pick-up date for the adoptive family soon. Thanks a million for the family’s long wait! We will inform the family once there’s any latest news!
This sounds like great news. Continuing to think of y'all and hope this happens SOON.
